To prevent complete loss of the pilots' primary flight instrument displays, accomplish the following: A. Replace the distance measuring equipment (DME) antenna cable connectors in accordance with Steps l through 3 of the Accomplishment Instructions of Cessna Citation Alert Service Bulletin A650-34-68, dated November 2, 1990. B. Accomplish either subparagraph B.1. or B.2., below: 1. Check the electrical bonding of the DME antennas to airplane structure in accordance with Step 4 of the Accomplishment Instructions of Cessna Citation Alert Service Bulletin A650-34-68, dated November 2, 1990. a. If the resistance is greater than 0.010 Ohms, prior to further flight, rework the antennas installation in accordance with Step 4 of the service bulletin. b. If the resistance is equal to or less than 0.010 Ohms, restore the system for use in accordance with Steps 5 through 7 of the Accomplishment Instructions of the service bulletin. 2. Rework the antenna installation in accordance with Step 4 of Cessna Citation Alert Service Bulletin A650-34-68, dated November 2, 1990; and restore the system for use in accordance with Steps 5 through 7 of the Accomplishment Instructions of the service bulletin. C. An alternate means of compliance or adjustment of the compliance time, which provides an acceptable level of safety, may be used when approved by the Manager, Wichita Aircraft Certification Office (ACO), ACE-130W, FAA, Central Region. NOTE: The request should be submitted directly to the Manager, Wichita ACO, and a copy sent to the cognizant FAA Principal Inspector (PI). The PI will then forward comments or concurrence to the Manager, Wichita ACO. D. Special flight permits may be issued in accordance with FAR 21.197 and 21.199 to operate airplanes to a base in order to comply with the requirements of this AD. All persons affected by this directive who have not already received the appropriate service information from the manufacturer may obtain copies upon request to Cessna Aircraft Company, Customer Services, P.O. Box 1521, Wichita, Kansas 67201.
