To prevent inadvertent deployment of a thrust reverser during flight, accomplish the following: (a) For airplanes listed in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-78A0052, Revision 1, dated February 14, 1992: Within 60 days after March 18, 1992 (the effective date of AD 92-06-13, Amendment 39-8193), revise the wiring in certain panels, the wing-body disconnects, and the wing-strut disconnects, in accordance with Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-78A0052, Revision 1, dated February 14, 1992. (b) For airplanes listed in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-78A0052, Revision 2, dated May 28, 1992: Within 60 days after the effective date of this AD, revise the wiring in certain panels, the wing-body disconnects, and the wing-strut disconnects, in accordance with Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-78A0052, Revision 2, dated May 28, 1992. Procedures that were accomplished previously in accordance with Revision 1 of the service bulletin, and that have not changed in Revision 2 of the service bulletin, need not be repeated. (c) An alternative method of compliance or adjustment of the compliance time that provides an acceptable level of safety may be used if approved by the Manager, Seattle Aircraft Certification Office (ACO), FAA, Transport Airplane Directorate. Operators shall submit their requests through an appropriate FAA Principal Maintenance Inspector, who may add comments and then sent it to the Manager, Seattle ACO. NOTE: Information concerning the existence of approved alternative methods of compliance with this AD, if any, may be obtained from the Seattle ACO. (d) Special flight permits may be issued in accordance with FAR 21.197 and 21.199 to operate the airplane to a location where the requirements of this AD can be accomplished. Copies may be obtained from Boeing Commercial Airplane Group, P.O. Box 3707, Seattle, Washington 98124-2207.
