Unsafe Condition

Chafing of the extinguisher pipe and clamp assemblies between the two fire extinguisher bottles in the engine nose cowls and inadequate clearance between the three pipe assemblies and adjacent equipment and structure could result in improper discharge of the engine fire extinguisher medium during an engine fire.

AI-generated summary from the source AD text. Verify against the official source before acting.

Required Actions

Within 30 days after the effective date, perform a visual inspection for chafing of the extinguisher pipe and clamp assemblies and ensure adequate clearance between the pipe assemblies and adjacent equipment/structure per British Aerospace Inspection Service Bulletin 26-A29, Rev 2. Prior to installing any nose cowl or engine/nose cowl combination on an operational airplane, perform the same inspection. Repair or replace damaged assemblies before further flight as required.
